Julie d'Aubigny

Name: Julie d'Aubigny Role: la Maupin
Sex: f Enter: Nov 01, 1673 b: Nov 01, 1673 d: Nov 01, 1707

Biography

Julie was born in either 1670 or 1673, and died in 1707. She is cited as being either 33 or 34 by those authors who list her age at death, which suggests that most sources believed her to have been born in 1673. Still it is hard to fit all of her early life in Paris, Marseille, and on the road before her debut in late 1690. Early on, I was using 1670 as the year of her birth.

At this point I am accepting the nearly universal 1673 birth year and since a couple of sources say that she died in the last couple of months of the year and her age at the time of her death is given as either 33 or 34 I am assuming that both her birth and death happened in November or December.

This makes the early chronology tight, and makes her quite young for some rather important events, but it also allows her to be quite young and immature for some of her wilder days. We shall see.

La Maupin and Myers-Briggs

Google around for ESTP and ESFP, two codes for personality types in the Myers-Briggs systems, and see if either sounds like la Maupin to you.  I think she'd be one or the other and, having read the descriptions, I lean toward ESTP myself.

A Myers-Briggs profile could be useful to you in imagining what she would do in various fictional situations, or why she might do what she did in various historical situations.
