Biography
Louis Joseph d'Albert de Luynes, the son of Louis Charles d'Albert, duc de Luynes, and his second wife, Anne de Rohan, was born April 1, 1672, died November 8, 1758, married Charlotte de Berghes de Montigny on March 17, 1715, and through her became the Prince of Grimberghen. He served both Maximilian II of Bavaria and his son Charles VII, and became an imperial field-marshal.
He was a student of Abbe Jean du Pic, a somewhat prolific, if not famous author. Pic wrote the book for some of the Operas La Maupin played in, and is often creditted with ghost writing the two works published under d'Albert's name.
